Change the playback speed of an entire clip or a part of the clip.
Changing clip playback speed can make video more impressive. If the playback speed is changed, clip duration (length) is also changed.
The [Speed] dialog box appears.
Enter a numerical value of the ratio of the speed compared to the original clip.
To make the speed faster, enter a value larger than 100%, and to make it slower, enter a value smaller than 100%.
Check [Change the Clip Duration on Timeline] in the [Speed] dialog box, and enter the clip duration in [Duration].
An orange line is displayed on clips whose speed has been changed.
You can alter the speed of any part of a clip.
The speed is changed by setting a frame to be the key and adjusting the intervals. For example, if you shorten the key frame duration to make the playback speed faster, the remaining frames are automatically interpolated, and as a result, the speed of the previous/next frames is changed. The In point of a clip, the frame of the Out point, and the overall length remain unchanged.
The [Time Remap] dialog box appears.
The key is added in the key setting field.
To make the playback speed slower, widen the key frame, and to make it faster, narrow down the key frame. The speed before and after the key frame is also changed.
The frame of the clip can also be dragged to the left or right.
The video is displayed on the Recorder.
Even clips with no key added have one key each at the beginning and end.
In the default time remap setting, the speed of the parts later than the set key changes smoothly. If you want to maintain a fixed playback speed for a certain range, set the key to the range, right-click the key on the In point side, and click [Linear]. The key changes the shape from diamond to square.
If you right-click a key to which linear change has been set and click [Speed], a dialog box for entering the playback speed appears.
Click [Initialize] in the [Time Remap] dialog box and click [Yes] to delete all added keys and restore them to the default.
Play back the In or Out points of the clip with the motion stopped. Clips can be stopped for the length of the clip, and in addition, the part before or after a desired frame can be stopped.
The [Freeze Frame] dialog box appears.
When the In point is selected, the frame of the In point is freeze-framed for the length of the clip, and when the Out point is selected, the frame of the Out point is freeze-framed for the length of the clip.
When a clip on which freeze frame is enabled is trimmed, operations differ as follows depending on the fixed position.
When the In point side of a clip with a fixed In point is trimmed, the displayed frame also moves along with the trimming. Operation is not affected when the Out point side has been trimmed.
When the Out point side of a clip with a fixed Out point is trimmed, the displayed frame also moves along with the trimming. Operation is not affected when the In point side has been trimmed.
The selected clip is cut at the timeline cursor position, and freeze frame is set to clips before or after the cursor. When freeze frame has been set after a cursor, the fixed position becomes the In point, and when freeze frame has been set before a cursor, the fixed position becomes the Out point.
Freeze frame cannot be set when a timeline cursor is located at a transition between clips.
