US-CERT (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team) announced on April 14, 2016, that they recommend to uninstall QuickTime for Windows (hereafter referred to as QuickTime) due to its vulnerabilities and end of support by Apple Inc. This announcement notifies about the security risks caused by opening a malicious website or MOV file on QuickTime Player or by opening a malicious MOV file on other applications such as EDIUS, and recommends uninstallation of QuickTime as the solution.
Since EDIUS uses QuickTime for its operation, various functions will be restricted after QuickTime is uninstalled.
The applicable products are as follows. Other EDIUS series products whose support has ended are also applicable.
