Switching an Editing Environment with Profile

You can register editing environments such as window layouts, system settings and user settings as profiles, and switch between these registered environments for use.

Registering Profiles

If you register profiles in advance, you can switch the following settings for each individual profile:

* Settings made at [Number of Files] of [Recent Project] in [Project file] are not included in profiles.

Note, however, that the following settings and information are not included in profiles:

1) Click [Settings] on the menu bar, and click [System Settings].

Note

2) Click the [Application] tree, and click [Profile].

3) Click [New Profile].

  • Items cannot be unchecked while the default icon folder is displayed even by clicking the [Default Icon Folder] checkbox in the [Select Icon] dialog box. The display returns to the default icon folder display by clicking [...] and checking while a different folder is displayed.

4) Set each item.

5) Click [OK].

Profile list

Display a list of currently registered profiles. The list can be resorted by dragging the icons.

[New Profile]

Register a new profile.

[Copy]

Duplicate the selected profile.

[Modify]

Rename selected profiles or change their icons.

[Delete]

Delete the selected profile.

Deleting Profiles

[Profile]

Select the profiles to display in the profile list.

[Shared Server]

Select the folder in which the shared profile is stored.

Using Shared Profiles on Local Terminals

[Profile] Dialog Box

[Name]

Enter the name of the profile.

[Change Icon]

Click this item to display the [Select Icon] dialog box and select the profile icons.

To use any image you like, click [...] in the [Select Icon] dialog box, and select a file.

[Read only]

This is a read-only profile. The settings of profiles that are changed while they are still in use are not overwritten.

Also, read-only profiles cannot be renamed, and their icons cannot be changed or deleted. The icon is displayed at the top right of read-only profiles.

[Restricted User]

This is a restricted user profile. The system settings cannot be changed while the restricted user profile is in use. The icon is displayed at the top right of restricted user profiles.

Changing Profiles

You can rename registered profiles or change their icons.

1) Select a profile in the profile list, and click [Modify].

2) Change the settings, and click [OK].

Duplicate registered profiles.

1) Select a profile in the profile list, and click [Copy].

Deleting Profiles

Delete registered profiles.

1) Select a profile in the profile list, and click [Delete].

2) Click [Yes].

Note

  • You cannot delete the profile currently in use (current setting).

Switching Profiles

Switch the profile while editing a project, and continue editing as you are.

1) Click [Settings] on the menu bar, and click [Change Profile].

2) Select a profile and click [OK].

  • Operations such as registering new profiles and changing profiles are not available in the [Change Profile] dialog box.

Importing Profiles (Import)

Import profiles.

Note

  • Some profile settings are not reflected when profiles created by an old version of EDIUS are imported.

1) Right-click a profile in the profile list, and click [Import].

2) Select a file, and click [Open].

Exporting Profiles (Export)

Export profiles.

1) Right-click a profile in the profile list, and click [Export] → [Selected profile].

2) Select a save destination and click [Save].
