About removing and replacing Field Replaceable Units

Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) are modular hardware components that can be serviced without disturbing other components in the system. Only Grass Valley components are supported.

CAUTION:

Do not attempt to use components procured from a source other than Grass Valley.

The FRU replacement topics describe how to remove the FRU components, re-assembly is the reverse unless otherwise indicated. Do not discard any hardware unless specicially instructed to do so.

A Torx tool with T15 magnetic tip is used to remove and replace parts in the GV Director Server, unless otherwise indicated.

CAUTION:

This system contains board-level components that must be protected from static discharge and physical shock. Wear a wrist strap grounded to the system chassis when handling system components.
