Assistant Director Tool (GVD-PRO-BL Optional for Flex)

The Grass Valley Assistant Director tool (GVD-AD) is an application that can run on any Windows 7 PC. It allows for a new assistant director workflow that allows you to make dynamic changes to a live production.You can select and modify properties and parameters for media, text, RSS feeds, etc. Any parameter types supported in GV Director can be updated here.

The Effect tab allows you to choose from layered elements, GPIO triggers, ect. available from your production pack. The Effects screen also allows you to change the layered elements available for your production. You may view and modify properties and parameters for production packs and media.
The Media tab allows you to access a shotbox of all available clips and stills. You may load up to 20 different clips into a player (one in each player) and you can save and recall a group of loaded clips as a shotbox playlist. You may view and modify media properties and parameters.
Live feeds can be viewed and both the video format and frame rates display.
Transitions in the library display the name of the transition and the current duration set for that transition. Transition Properties allows the operator to change the duration of the transition.
The Event List option allows you to place production elements within Event List in the order you wish to take them to air, layered over background. Create an ordered list of production elements that you can step through in sequence during a production. You may view and modify Event List media properties and parameters.
Using the file transfer feature, you may send media and production packs to a server or your PC.
