Create a Wipe Transition

  1. Select New Transition in the Project widow.

  2. Right click on the new transition element in the project widow.

  3. Select Rename.
  4. Enter a name that is descriptive of the new transition, in this case use Wipe.

    If you are creating several wipe patterns in your Production Pack, you might describe it by the pattern the wipe will have.

    This will create a new element in the Objects window labeled ipa-mixer.

  5. Click on the arrow to the left of ipa-mixer to expand and reveal the levels below (Front Plane and Back Plane).

    Front Plane is the source that is currently the background on Program out of GV Director.

    Back Plane is the background source that will be revealed when the transition is complete.

  6. Select Front Plane in the Objects window.

  7. Click on the arrow to the left of Front Plane to expand and reveal the Materials element (Standard Texture) below the Front Plane.

  8. In the Projects window under the Object tab, find and maximize the control for Players.

    Fill will show have GVD Mixer Player prepopulated as the source.

  9. To select a Key Source, click on the empty Key field. The Add Object window will open.

  10. Select an object as the key source for the wipe transition. For this wipe pattern example, “Gradient Plasma" is selected.
    Note: For more complex wipe patterns, greyscale graphics can be created and imported to create wipe pattern shapes.
  11. Click on the arrow to the left of Keying (Below the Player controls).

  12. Set the Mode in the Keying controls to Test.

  13. Set Test Min to 0
  14. Set Test Max to 255
  15. Set the start of the transition for the first key frame
  16. Ensure that timeline controls are positioned at the beginning of the timeline.
  17. The cursor can be dragged to the beginning or the time value can be set to 0.
  18. Click on the green diamond on the timeline tool bar to insert the first keyframe.
  19. Move the cursor on the timeline to 100.

    If the green diamond is greyed out, make sure the Front Plane is selected in the Object window.

  20. eturn to the Keying controls in the Project window on the Object tab.

  21. Set the Test Max to a value of 0
    Note: As you move the slider for Test Max, the A screen in the Stage will wipe from the bottom of the screen to the top.
  22. Insert the second keyframe.

Assets with names, tags, descriptions, comments or custom texts matching the search criteria are displayed in the Asset List panel.
