File Transfer via FTP

Files can also be transferred using FTP. Using a software application that will allow you to transfer files over the network from the location where they are stored to the proper file on your GV Director server. Below is an example using the FileZilla FTP software.

Files can also be transferred using FTP. Using a software application that will allow you to transfer files over the network from the location where they are stored to the proper file on your GV Director server. Below is an example using the FileZilla FTP software.

  1. In the Host field at the top/left of FileZilla, enter the IP address of your GV Director server, user name: Delta and password: Delta
  2. Click on the Quickconnect button to the right.
  3. Once you have established a connection to the GV Director server, in the center/left pane labeled Local Site: find the drive and directory on your local computer or network drive where the file you want to transfer is stored.
  4. Select the clip or clips you wish to transfer.
  5. On the right/center pane labeled Remote site: set the directory path as follows for clips you FTP to /System/Objects/mpegves, for pictures/stills you ftp to /system/object/pictures.
Note:
It is critical to store the imported file in the correct location on the GV Director server. This is the file location that shows the files you will see in the clip library menu when accessing clip and still files for your GV Director players.
