Replace the fan module

The top cover is removed.

DANGER
To avoid serious injury from high currents, ensure that both power cords are disconnected prior to removing or replacing any parts.
  1. Disconnect the two fan module cables from the motherboard, noting left and right, by pulling back the fan module connector retaining tab and unplugging the connector for each.
    CAUTION:
    When installing the fan module verify that the left fan connects to the left connector and the right fan to the right.

  2. Remove the four mounting screws fastening the fan module to the chassis.
  3. Lift the fan module straight up until clear of the chassis.
