Adding software roles to a GV I/O Ingest Appliance

  1. In the Software Deployment | Devices tree view, right-click the device and select Add Role.

    The Add Role dialog box opens.

    The Add Role dialog box displays only those roles that SiteConfig allows for the selected device type.
  2. Select the role or roles that you want to add to the device. Use Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click to add multiple roles.
    Note: If you added the correct GV STRATUS Ingest Appliance device (either iSCSI or not), then the default roles are correct and no other roles need to be added.
    • GV I/O Ingest Appliance roles with SMB connection from the following list only:
      • GV STRATUS IO Appliance
      • GV Embedded Security Manager
      • GV Log Manager
      • GV Log Viewer
    • GV I/O Ingest Appliance roles with iSCSI connection from the following list only:
      • GV STRATUS IO Appliance
      • GV Embedded Security Manager
      • StorNext File System Client
      • K2 iSCSI Client
      • GV Log Manager
      • GV Log Viewer
  3. Click OK to save settings and close. The new roles appear under the device in the tree view.
