Prepare for upgrade to Windows 2016

Before upgrading, do the following:

• Procure the latest ServerMigration-xxxxxxxx.zip file for this release via the appropriate distribution method, such as download, network drive, or external drive. This contains the scripts you will need to backup the SQL databases and the required Grass Valley directories and registry keys.
• If you are replacing an Express Core server, you will need to backup the F | proxy folder manually.
• Record down all the shared folders, such as the Workflow engine/Xcode Control Working directory, the proxy share (express cores only), the Thumbnails folder in the GV STRATUS Rundown directory, etc. These will need to be recreated/re-shared on the new server.
• Record down the licensed GV STRATUS users/groups. You will need to recreate the users/groups local to the server.
• You must obtain new Sabretooth and SQL licenses for the new Core server.
• Verify that the BIOS is updated to the latest version to ensure that you have the Meltdown & Spectre patches.
