The GV STRATUS
Rules Engine can watch an external media location and gather statistical information
from assets that had been published to the External Media Account. Multiple external
media accounts and configured locations are supported for the media network counts
rule. After applying the rule, information such as the number of View-, Like- and
Share-counts are stored as asset metadata in the GV STRATUS system.

Log in to the GV STRATUS Control Panel application with administrator privileges.

In the GV STRATUS Control Panel application, click General | Rules.

Click Add.
Rule Editor settings open.

In the Rule
Type drop-down list select Media Network Counts.

In the Name field type in a name
for the rule you are configuring.

In the Description field type in
a description for the rule you are configuring, if desired.

In Rule Notification
settings, specify the notification behavior, if desired.

Enter email addresses to which emails
are sent.
Separate multiple email
addresses with a comma.

Select one or more notification
types:
- Delivery
Failed: Emails are sent if the rule
operation fails.
- Delivery
Completed: Emails are sent if the rule
operation succeeds.
In order to send emails, the email
server must be configured in Workflow Engine settings.

In Scope settings, specify
the location or locations in which the rule operates.

Click Add
location.
The Location
Selection dialog box opens.

Navigate to and select the desired external media
location.
You can select multiple locations in the Location
Selection dialog box.
This is the external media location that contains
the assets on which the rule operates. Every time the rule runs, it
looks in this location to determine if there are any assets that
match the rule conditions and then operates on the assets that
match.

Click OK.
The location is added to the
Scope
list.

Repeat these steps to add additional
locations as desired.

To change a location in the list,
click the
Browse button

To remove a location from the list,
click X.

In Frequency settings,
specify how often the Rules Engine triggers the rule.

Select one of the following
options:
- Periodically: Sets the period with the
minimum setting of 60 minutes. It must be set between 60 to
120 minutes to not overload the Rules Engine.
- Daily:
Sets the number of days.
For the Daily option, a Start Time
setting opens. Set the day and time the rule is triggered for the
first time.

Click Save.
Next, enable the rule.
