K2 Central TX Shared Storage

K2 Central TX Shared Storage is an extension of the K2 storage line that provides an easy to integrate shared storage solution designed for transmission applications. K2 Central TX Shared Storage supports up to five K2 Summit Transmission clients and up to 20 channels of 50 Mb/s video streams simultaneously. The integrated approach to shared storage includes the server, storage and network connectivity in one chassis, providing for quick installation and simple configuration on-site.

When K2 Central TX Shared Storage is combined with five K2 Summit Transmission clients it will support a maximum of 2,000Mbps of real-time video bandwidth and provides four channels of video I/O for a maximum of 20 channels (at 50Mbps). K2 Central TX Shared Storage can provide 16 channels of video I/O (at 100Mbps).

Because K2 Central TX Shared Storage combines the network switch, the file system manager and the primary storage chassis all in one compact, pre-configured 4RU unit, it is a truly plug-and-play, broadcast-grade appliance. Connectivity to clients (non-real time video file-content clients such as editors, asset management systems or archives) is supported through two 10 GigE connections delivering services using FTP and SMB. K2 Central TX Shared Storage can work with Grass Valley EDIUS clients editing CMF natively for edit-in-place connectivity.

K2 Central TX Shared Storage is available in three storage configurations - 20TB, 40TB and 60TB - providing up to 800 hours of storage at 100Mb/s.
