Replacing a Media Drive with a New Drive

The media drives of the K2 Central-Tx Server are hot swappable, meaning that they can be removed and replaced while power is on and the system is running. However removing and replacing a drive interrupts the operation of the entire storage. These instructions will help limit the time of the disruption while drives are removed and replaced.

  1. Ensure the hard drive is mounted in a carrier.
  2. Press the carrier button to release the handle.
  3. Open the carrier handle until it is fully extended.
  4. Place the drive into the slot and press it until it seats completely.
  5. Close the handle and press it until it locks.
