Replacing the RAID Controller to Media Backplane Cable

CAUTION: This system contains board-level components that must be protected from static discharge and physical shock. Wear a wrist strap grounded to the system chassis when handling system components.

  1. Shutdown the K2 Central-Tx Server. Disconnect all AC power cords.
  2. Remove the top cover.
  3. Locate the RAID Controller board in PCIe slot 2 of the chassis. Slot 2 is the second slot counting from right to left looking from the rear of the chassis.

  4. Remove the cable being replaced from the back of the RAID Controller board noting whether it is connected to the top or bottom connectors.
  5. Follow the cable being replaced through the hole in the chassis to the connector in the Media Drive Backplane where it is connected. Disconnect the cable and remove it from the chassis.
  6. Take the replacement cable and connect it to the back of the RAID Controller Board in the same connector to where the old cable was connected.
  7. Take the other end of the replacement cable carefully leading it through the same path as the old cable to the Media Drive Backplane. Connect the cable to the same connector where the old cable was connected.
  8. Replace the cover.
  9. Reconnect the AC power cords.

The K2 Central-Tx Server is now ready for use.
