Move System and Media Drives into a New Assembly
These instructions are to move the system and media drives from the original K2 Central-Tx and place them into the new assembly to get a working K2 Central-Tx while preserving system configuration and media. It is recommended to work on a flat surface such as a desk, table or work bench..
- Ensure the original K2 Central-Tx has no editors, FTP or client activity. Stop any channel activity on K2 Central-Tx Clients and shut them down.
- Shut down the original K2 Central-Tx Server.
- Disconnect all cables and power from the original K2 Central-Tx chassis, keeping track in what position they were in.
- Label the media drives to preserve their order. Label the two system drives located in the rear next to the power supplies to distinguish what position they are in.
- Remove the media drives from the K2 Central-Tx chassis located in the rear of the chassis next to the power supplies. Remove the system drives from the K2 Central-Tx chassis.
- Remove the original K2 Central-Tx chassis from the rack or location.
- If needed place the rack mount rails on the new assembly chassis.

Central-Tx and operate. If client connections work then continue to the next step.
- If AppCenter on a K2 Central-Tx Client does not start open the LogViewer and check the log for the error condition of why it is not starting.
- If the log message is “Disk recorder restart required to handle reconnection” then restart the client.
- If the log message is “Disk recorder startup stalled until a “media” interface detects a K2 Central-Tx DHCP server” verify the 1Gb Ethernet cable is properly connected to one of the K2 Central-Tx 1Gb Ethernet ports.
