Working with Existing Production Packs

Existing Production Packs can be saved to a USB storage device from the GV Director Touchpad menu, or transported via the network. Since GV Director ships with several pre-installed Production Packs, you might find it easier to modify an existing Production Pack instead of creating one from scratch.

Import a Production Pack to Composer
  • Insert a USB flash drive into one of the USB 2 ports on the back of the Control Surface.
  • Access the System Set-up menu with a top-to-bottom finger swipe on the Control Surface Touchpad
  • Select the File Transfer menu icon.

  • Choose Send Production Pack to USB.
  • Select the desired Production Pack to transfer to USB drive.

  • Open Composer
  • Select Import Project from the Composer Welcome window

  • Navigate to the Composer project file location.
  • Be sure you select the Production Pack file, indicated by the .ppk extension.

REMEMBER: A file with a .cpk extension is for use with GV Edge and will not work with Composer for Director.

The image below shows a picture in picture effect on the Stage. In the Project Window, all the transitions and templates loaded from previously created projects appear.
