Enabling PTP for SDI workflows

If PTP is available within the facility, to enable it you must add a registry entry to set the IP address of the network interface.

  1. Uninstall NTP client if it's already installed on the GV I/O server.
  2. Go to the registry and add a new entry as follows:
    • Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Grass Valley Group\Mocha
    • Name: PtpIP
    • Type: REG_SZ
    • Value: Enter the IP address of the PTP time server

  3. To verify PTP, stop the Grass Valley AppService.
  4. Then, start the Grass Valley AppService.

  5. Check AppCenter console output to ensure there are no errors.
  6. Check that MocS2069Client.exe is launched as shown below.

The console output should display "PTP precision is back under warning threshold" to indicate that PTP client is locked to the PTP server.

The PTP client is now enabled.
