Sending the field EDIUS project to the home GV STRATUS system with Render Package

  • EDIUS Workgroup must be operating in WAN mode (not GV STRATUS mode) to create and save a project outside of the managed project location.
  • The EDIUS Render Package Service must already be installed and configured on the GV STRATUS Render Engine server or GV STRATUS Core server.
  1. Select a sequence on the EDIUS timeline.
Note: Clips (including video, audio, image, and title) on EDIUS timeline will be sent as a zip file from the active timeline.
  2. Press the F11 key. The Print to File dialog box opens.

  3. Select the STRATUS Send for RenderPackage Exporter and click Export.

The WAN Editing Transfer dialog appears.

  4. Select the destination location for the Render Package file at a local folder of the home site.

You can drag the slider to set the quality of the transcoded file, and click on the Estimated time drop-down list to set the speed of the transfer.

You can also select the Keep transferred segments check-box to re-use the transcoded file, if desired.

  5. Click OK.
The EDIUS Workgroup field-to-home site render process creates and transfers the sequence as a zip file to the selected destination.

After the render package is exported to the destination, copy the zip file to the watch folder defined previously in the EDIUS Render Package Service setup.

The watch folder detects the zip file and activates the unpack, conform, and transcode processes. You can also check the progress of the processes in the GV STRATUS Jobs Monitor.

The EDIUS sequence will be rendered as an asset in the GV STRATUS system.
