Inserting placeholders manually into Inception

You can create placeholders and add them manually into your stories in Inception.

  1. Double-click the slug on your rundown to open your story.
  2. Create a new placeholder using the Assignment List in the GV STRATUS ActiveX panel.
  3. Drag the new placeholder from the GV STRATUS ActiveX panel and drop it into your story.

The placeholder is added to the story.

Note: You can also use this step to add existing placeholders to your story.
  4. Click Save.

You can then drag and drop clips into placeholders and those clips will be automatically associated with your stories in Inception. However, take note of these current limitations between GV STRATUS and Inception:

  • A clip cannot be dragged and dropped to Inception more than 5 times (even if the same clip is renamed).
  • A clip cannot be renamed after it is linked to placeholder (after dragging the clip to Inception).
  • Asset name cannot be [AssetName]_[xxxxyyyy] or with multiple '_[xxxxyyyy]' following the [AssetName] (eg: AssetName_12345678_12345678 OR AssetName_12345678_12345678_12345678 OR AssetName_20190101)
